Waiting at the ER
The wait in the Emergency Department can be difficult and you may become anxious. The nursing and medical staff at Lutheran Hospital understand your anxiety.  We hope you will take comfort in knowing you are receiving care from some of the most skilled, experienced healthcare professionals in Cleveland. 

Arriving at the Emergency Department If you come to the Emergency Department by ambulance, you will be taken immediately to an examination room. If you do not arrive by ambulance, however, a triage nurse will assess your condition. The triage nurse will ask you several questions that may seem routine, but are important in helping us determine the urgency of your illness or injury. You will then be seen by one of the Emergency Department physicians.   Being Admitted to the Hospital If you are admitted to the hospital, we encourage a family member to remain with you throughout the entire admission process. Your family member may be able to provide additional information that will help in the treatment of your illness or injury.   While Being Treated While you are in the treatment room we encourage all visitors to remain in the waiting room until the physician examines you.  After a physician has seen you, a friend or family member is welcome to visit you. This allows us to provide the most efficient treatment possible.
