Cleveland Clinic Health System Campuses Go Smoke-Free
Fairview, Lakewood and Lutheran Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic Health System (CCHS) are committed to creating a healthy environment for our employees, patients and visitors. We want to lead by example. We want to be a model of good health and best wellness practices. To help achieve this, we have designated our facilities and grounds as smoke-free areas.
On July 4, 2005 Fairview, Lakewood and Lutheran Hospitals and the CCHS officially became smoke-free. This is consistent with thousands of businesses, airlines and healthcare organizations that have become smoke-free in recent years.
To prepare patients and visitors for the implementation of our smoke-free policy, a number of efforts were introduced to help people quit or reduce their tobacco use, such as monthly forums on smoking-related topics, monthly smoking cessation programs developed by CCHS experts, and a mentoring program for those who would like personal assistance in smoking cessation.
For more information about all of these efforts, please call 877.617.6653 toll-free or e-mail smashtheash@ccf.org.
